There are no additional costs associated with any operating system updates. Hardware upgrades, including processor feature and tier changes also result in no additional fees. All replacement hardware is covered under our Annual Software Maintenance Agreement. Our software is licensed per system/LPAR. There are charges for additional LPARs or systems that are not purely system upgrades or replacements.

New software license keys or access codes are only needed if the serial number or unique LPAR identifier changes.

There are required updates to the v6.0 software to run our Query Optimizer tool on V5R4M0 or V5R4M5. These updates do not need to be applied before the operating system upgrade. Our v6.0 software is technically no longer supported. We can email this update to you if necessary though.

All active customers, current with an Annual Software Maintenance Agreement are entitled to our v7.0 software - at no additional charge. This release has been publicly available for almost 3 years. This version is required for V6R1M0. The v6.0 software must be removed prior to a V6R1M0 operating system upgrade. This can be done using the MBPFR/UNINSTALL command with the QSECOFR profile and following the procedure on the bottom of the screen. Our v7.0 software can be installed and data can be converted from prior releases using any "Free 30 Day Trial" link on our web site. Once installed and collecting data, the trial software can be converted to a permanent license with simply a new access code or license key.
